Research and development are key words into Nexsoft’s plans. Being aware that innovation is an obligatory investment in order to achieve a solid future and a strong presence on the market, Nexsoft relies on the continuous interaction between internal and external research and on the high qualification of its team of professionals, taking advantage of several partnerships with prestigious universities and and research entities. This process allows Nexsoft’s professionals to be in an ongoing technologic update.

Nexsoft, since the early 2000, has been studying the times in which it was operating, being among the first Italian companies to emphasize the themes of tracking and electronic identification and carrying out an intense industrial research activities about immersive VISUALIZZAZIONE and stereoscopy. 

Last few years have been seen Nexsoft involved in Web Semantics, research and development of adoptive algorithms for the fruition of contents with multisensory approach. The relationships with Universities and other companies certify the will to improve Nexsoft professionals’ knowledgement. These relationships allows Nexsoft to host apprentices and graduates and to insert them gradually knot the technical structure, in fact, Nexsoft has created a laboratory for R&D registered with the Ministry of Education DM 593/00 (Italian law).


The final aim of the project SENECA (SEnses and vibrations: music e NEw media between Culture And territories) is to foster “new experiences” through the use of active technologies able to promote “new experiences” of fruition and participation in arts, museum items, landscapes and traditions through the interaction of several senses heritage both in the city of Naples that of Benevento.

  1. Starting off the historical and musical patrimony of Naples, it is possible to experience, via everyday devices, a multisensory itinerary that enables the user to relive the music and the arts of the artists in ‘700 and ‘800.
  2. Starting off the culinary and territorial traditions of Sannio, an itinerary that combines the vibrations of music with those provoked by other senses is available.
  3. In the framework of the project, the Research lab has worked in development of an app for multisensorial itineraries in Augmented Reality. The paths span different branches of the cultural heritage: music, gastronomy, landscape.

SENECA uses the Augmented Reality when it comes to experience the world in this way. Augmented reality (AR) is a view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by device-generated sensory input such as sound, video or graphics. We are involved since 2006 in AR projects, firstly in research activity and now in projects in Tourism and for industrial World.

The project Salus per Lactem gives the opportunity to visualize the information about the quality and safety of milk during the whole process. Nexsoft has begun an experimentation that allows to create products that could contribute to the safeguard of human health taking advantage of the nutritional characteristic of milk, causing a positive economic consequence. Nexsoft is linked to Centrale del Latte in Salerno as winner of the announcement “Campus” of the Campania Region, P.O.R. – Campania FESR 2007 – 201.

Three are the main participant:

  1. The farmer who is responsible of the production of milk;
  2. Milk collection point where all the milk is gathered;
  3. The processing center that guarantee the quality of the final product and that is responsible of the pasteurization and packaging of milk.

Nexsoft has created an app and a website that display information via QR code scan, having the code on every package, that provide all the useful information about the life of milk. Salus per Lactem is the first example of a collaboration among different members of the same branch that join their research and business capabilities in order to achieve positive results for the territory and for those who could use the outcome of the scientific work.


‘’Open’’ is a project that aims to improve competition of the textile industry companies belonging to ‘’Made in Italy’’. This can be achieved by creating a numerical control unit (CNC) that manages the motion of the machine and monitor the work of the system, a digital Bus that links the devices, Servodrives to pilote the engines of the different axis controlled numerically, I/O remote modules to manage the devices, a Virtual Environment to shape, simulate, monitor and set up the system, an HMI to define the process of the system, special Cards to manage machines such as lasers, welding apparatus, etc.

The system is combined with an ‘’Enterprise Portal’’ software that helps to control, take care of professionals. In this field, Nexsoft has created an app that enables the user, using an user friendly device, to control the numerically controlled devices. The innovation is the ease by which the user can use this app and by the intelligible representation, understandable by every user, that the system gives.

Progetto LEAN LAB

Nexsoft created a Lean laboratory. The idea is to verify the results of the Lean Thinking methodology concerning IT. The use of this approach enables to increase the quality of the work conducted being able to work on the innovation of the organization. The application of the Lean Lab has been useful for the test activity. The innovation has minimize the squander, increasing the value for the client. This kind of approach, usually employed in manufacturing companies, is unavailable in IT. The laboratory monitored and elaborated the processes within Nexsoft.

The result was to get rid of squander and the related costs, increasing the quality and the client’s satisfaction. The other result was a new company mentality. Using this methodology for the client’s services, Nexsoft has removed the no-core activities. The project STRIM is a prototype of a product in support of medical diagnosis. The product allows a better accuracy and efficacy of the report of a given pathology comparing to the current equipment available nowadays. The prototype has been focused on the human brain as the most complex point in the human body, diagnostically talking, so that it could give remarkable results, facilitating the introduction of the prototype itself on the market.

Every clinic that uses diagnostic imaging (such as neurosurgery, orthopaedics, traumatology, respiratory department, etc.) would be interested in such technology as it gives a more precise result. In these wards, a strong technological element can be found; beyond the employment of equipment that allow to digitally manage the images, this prototype can combine the ‘’outputs’’ of these instrumentations and it can visualize them in an integrated framework in order to enable an exact therapeutic operations. The client can interact with the prototype in every step of the process, from the very beginning of the diagnosis, to the final phase: once the diagnostic equipment have been identified, the results can be integrated in a 3D immersive visualizer with high performances commensurate to the hardware employed.

The system allows:

  1. The aggregation and the tridimensional reconstruction of ‘’multi-source” images coming from different diagnostic equipment and the stereoscopic visualization of human organs;
  2. The interaction in an immersive environments, using both cyberglove and GR;
  3. The advanced medical report in real time.
